Registration & Eligibility
Who can register for Bees Youth Football?
- Fall Season: Participants must reside within, or have at least one parent residing within, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District. Players do not need to attend BBH schools.
- Spring Season & Camps: Open to participants from any community
Can my child play in a different grade level?
It is strongly recommended that players participate in their current grade level. Our program is designed as a progressive system where each level builds on the previous one.
Teams & Placement
Can I request a specific coach, team, or teammate?
Reasonable requests may be submitted; however, there are no guarantees that requests can be accommodated. This includes requests based on friendships, carpooling, or other relationships (excluding immediate family such as parents and siblings).
Practices
When are practices held?
Practice schedules are set by individual coaches after teams are formed.
- Tackle Football: Typically 2–3 practices per week (about 2 hours each)
- Flag Football: Typically 1–2 practices per week (about 1 hour each)
- Additional practices may be scheduled prior to the start of games
Games
When and where are games played?
- Games are typically held on Saturdays, with occasional weekday games due to scheduling or field availability
- Flag Games: Usually between 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Tackle Games: Can be scheduled throughout the day, including mornings and evenings
- Games may take place in any participating community within the league
What happens if there is bad weather?
Games are played as scheduled unless there is lightning or unsafe conditions. Officials will make final decisions on the field.
Participation
Are there minimum playing time requirements?
Yes—participation is a priority:
- Flag Football: Players are expected to play at least approximately half of each game
- Tackle Football: Players are guaranteed a minimum of 12 plays per game (excluding special teams)
Equipment
What equipment is included with registration?
- Tackle Football:
- Return Required: Helmet, shoulder pads, game jersey, padded pants
- Keep: Practice jersey and mouthpiece
- Padded Flag:
- Return Required: Helmet, shoulder pads, game jersey
- Keep: Practice jersey, mouthpiece, and flags
- Junior Flag:
- Jersey, mouthpiece, and flags (all kept by player)

What type of cleats are allowed?
- Molded rubber or plastic cleats are required
- Metal or screw-in cleats are strictly prohibited
- Soccer cleats are acceptable
Fees & Registration
What are the program fees?
- Flag Football: $75–$170 depending on division
- Tackle Football: $220
When does registration open?
- Spring Season: Around January 15
- Fall Season: Around April 15
Teams are formed using on-time registrations first. Late registrations may:
- Be placed only if roster space is available
- Be subject to additional fees if extra costs are incurred
Uniform & Equipment Care
How should uniforms be cleaned?
- Machine wash jerseys and pants with standard detergent
- Hang to dry
- Use stain remover for tough stains
- Eye black can be removed using dish soap (e.g., Dawn)
How do I care for football pads?
- Allow pads to fully dry after each use to prevent bacteria and mold
- Remove jerseys from shoulder pads to improve airflow
- Place pads near fans or vents to speed drying
- Clean with a damp cloth as needed, then dry thoroughly
- For deeper cleaning, use a disinfectant safe for plastics and follow label instructions
