Fall Flag Football

2024 Fall Season Registration Is Closed

Bees Youth Football is a member of the Suburban Youth Football Conference (SYFC). Within the SYFC there are 2 flag football programs - Padded Flag and Junior Flag. Padded Flag is for 3rd and 4th Graders and Junior Flag is for 1st and 2nd Graders. For both leagues, eligibility is determined by the players grade for the 2024-2025 school year. The fees for Padded Flag will be $160 and Junior Flag will be $110.

For anyone unfamiliar with Padded Flag, each participant in Padded Flag will wear a helmet and shoulder pads, but follow the rules of flag football. There is no tackling and blocking can only be with hands to the chest area. By including Padded Flag we are also able to delay the start of full tackle football which is aligned with many other programs across the country.

Our objective is to create a progressive football program where each step builds on the previous. By teaching the kids how to wear a helmet and shoulder pads in Padded Flag, it prepares them for the next step of tackle football. Similarly, Jr. Flag teaches kids football basics in order to prepare them for Padded Flag.

For Padded Flag, each participant will be issued a helmet, shoulder pads, a practice jersey, a game jersey, and a mouthpiece. At the conclusion of the season we ask that each participant returns the helmet, shoulder pads, and practice jersey. It is also recommended that all padded flag participants wear molded rubber cleat spikes - metal spikes are strictly prohibited.

For Junior Flag, each participant will be issued a jersey and a mouthpiece to keep.

The latest rules for Junior Flag and Padded Flag are here:

Practices can officially begin on July 29, 2024. Both Padded Flag and Junior Flag will practice 1-2 times per week during the school year. In the two weeks prior to school starting there may be additional practices. Individual coaches will be responsible to set their own practice schedule.

Games are typically on Saturdays with variable times throughout the day. Periodically games can be on a different day if there are scheduling or field availability conflicts.

Lastly, please note that Bees Youth Football does not have tryouts or cut players. Any child that wants to play will play. Both flag leagues in the SYFC have playing time requirements to ensure all kids participate in the games as well. The goal is not just coaching for here and now but developing our players for the future and most importantly, having fun!

Thank you,
